Inpatient Corridors · Experimental cooperative variant
Build a way out.
Leave together.
Two people, one shared device—or explore both turns yourself. Gather Support, build Care, and reach the exits before Pressure reaches 10.
How to play · start here
- Player 1 starts. Each player takes two actions, then passes the device.
- Tap an adjacent open square to move. Gather adds Support; each gather adds 1 Tension until Creative Space is built.
- Contribute 1 Support at a time to Care projects. Both players fund the same projects.
- After both turns, Pressure rises by 1 and barriers form. Spend Support to ease Pressure or clear adjacent barriers.
- Win together: complete four Care projects, including Housing and either Peer Support or Mobile Response; keep Pressure at 3 or less; get both pawns to either exit.
Rest reduces your pawn's Tension by 2. At the start of a turn with Tension 6, it resets to 4 and adds 1 Pressure. These are game counters, not measurements of either player.
Full prototype rules and design decisions · This is a new original scenario. It does not replace the chess-inspired variant or claim artist participation. No music or third-party game assets are included.
The corridor
Tap an adjacent open square to move. With a keyboard, use arrows to explore; Enter selects. The centre Void cannot be entered.
P1 / P2 = pawns · Exit = safe when Housing is built · Barrier = blocked · Void = unavailable. Pawns can share an open square.
Choose an action
Every successful action spends one of your two actions.
Choose a Care project below to contribute, or move on the board.
Shared Care projects
Player 1 starts with two actions and two Support.
Care is your choice
Declining changes no Tension and spends no Support. Making the request uses the asking player's action either way.
Reflect together: Which rule created pressure? What helped? What would you change next?
