# IP and Rights Matrix

## Purpose

This matrix helps collaborators distinguish original IP, transformative work, inspiration, licensed material, public-domain material, and unresolved rights. It is an operational record, not legal advice.

## Public/private boundary

Do not publish Social Security, housing, medical, benefits, banking, tax, credential, private correspondence, or unsigned contract records in public repositories. Preserve those records privately with access controls.

## Status vocabulary

- **Verified provenance** — supported by an identified primary artifact.
- **Authorial interpretation** — the creator's present explanation of earlier work.
- **Structural inspiration** — an influence, not a rights claim.
- **Transformative fan work** — contains or responds to third-party fictional material.
- **Original project canon** — approved through the destination repository's authority process.
- **Unresolved** — requires evidence, permission, or professional review.
