# Loptr Lab Creative Ecosystem Architecture

## Purpose

This document is the canonical public map of how Dominique Devereaux's creative archives, prototypes, games, research, and contributor pathways relate. It records development lineage without declaring every work part of one literal fictional continuity.

## Architecture

| Work or surface | Ecosystem role | Authority |
|---|---|---|
| *The Legend of Lady Violet* | Ancestral political story about consent, responsibility, rebellion, and collective consequence | Planned original-IP archive; source inventory pending |
| *The RIM* | Genesis archive for the distributed-story method later called Urban Alien Adventures | Planned historical archive; source inventory pending |
| Urban Alien Adventures | Adaptation and discovery framework: story fragments appear in advertisements and background media until the players and larger system are recognized | Narrative adaptation; not current game-rules authority |
| *Battle the Beast* | Transformative nonlinear story and interactive narrative prototype | Historical design provenance; no Veiled Dominion rules authority |
| *Violet's Revenge* | Original gothic-forensics game branch in which inherited history becomes an investigation | Its repository controls current project canon |
| *Veiled Dominion* | Primary original creative case and current playable systems design | Engine repository controls game canon and rules |
| PIXIE | Reflective and political publishing surface for authorship, ownership, public-domain, accessibility, and production questions | Commentary and research evidence; not automatic game canon |
| Loptr Lab | Production, governance, training, accessibility, and research practice | Studio repositories control their respective implementations |

## Development lineage

The working lineage is:

1. Lady Violet and Sebastian establish the political grammar.
2. *The RIM* develops the distributed method of story discovery.
3. Urban Alien Adventures places narrative fragments across apparently separate media.
4. *Battle the Beast* prototypes nonlinear navigation, recurrent identities, and ensemble discovery.
5. *Violet's Revenge* develops the inherited investigative branch.
6. *Veiled Dominion* expresses transferable principles through original systems and mechanics.
7. Loptr Lab research and training examine how that world-building shapes production and collaboration.

## Transfer rule

Transfer design questions, principles, and testable player experiences only. Do not transfer franchise characters, protected expression, recordings, lyrics, images, or other third-party material into original commercial IP. A concept becomes canon only through the authority process of its destination repository.

## Discovery architecture

Urban Alien Adventures is not merely a collection title. It is a delivery model:

1. The audience encounters advertisements, artifacts, broadcasts, or background details.
2. Recurring signals reveal that apparently separate pieces belong together.
3. The audience identifies the players and their relationships.
4. The promotional or environmental layer is recognized as part of the narrative.
5. Participation changes from passive viewing to investigation and play.

John August's film [*The Nines*](https://johnaugust.com/projects/the-movie) is identified as a structural inspiration for layered identity and reality discovery. Inspiration does not imply affiliation, license, adaptation rights, or ownership.

## Canon rule

When documents conflict, follow the canon policy in the repository responsible for the work. This architecture is a map, not a mechanism for overriding local canon.
